Hunters Cheeky Chilli
What an incredible aroma of freshness along with very inviting notes of spices and seasoning. The texture is bang on; it allows a good chew but also allows the dried meat to melt. The beef has a mineral rich freshness.
We love how carefully this biltong has been prepped with healthy looking well sliced, neat, uniform pieces of meat. It has sweet meaty aromas with exciting whiffs of spice. The texture is tender and soft but with a satisfying initial chew. It shows very well balanced seasoning with enough salt to bring out lots of beefy aromas, an underlying sweetness and the spice levels adding a pleasant fiery lift at the end.
Rich dark red pieces of juicy looking beef with pleasing marbling and a deeply savoury aroma. This has a good firm bite, with a satisfyingly chewy texture that slowly melts away. Upfront acidity from the vinegar and lively heat from the spices are bold and well balanced with richer savoury beefy notes revealed as the meat is broken down on the palate. The fat tastes clean. Simple and satisfying, it is very tasty and hard to resist going back for more. Delicious!

Simple, but correct thin slices of hand crafted biltong. The prime grass fed beef slices were pleasant, not over chewy and had a good level of juiciness. The beef flavours came through well, and was not masked by other spices. A very light aroma.
Good chunks of meat, well prepared and it’s so good to have a biltong that is not cruel to the teeth and drier than an elephant’s foot. Pleasantly chewy, juicy, meaty, it is perhaps a little on the sweet side but the muted back notes of the spices in no way impede the flavour of the beef.

Hunters Traditional Biltong
Good sized pieces which are tender and succulent – juicy and full of flavour. Well butchered and prepared. The meat is also void of sinew and hard fat – so the chew was very pleasant. The meat flavour is good – there is a faint background note of offal on some pieces but this isn’t unpleasant. This is a delicious biltong.
Neat and rich looking biltong that didn’t look too dry. The aroma was predominantly beefy. Lovely and tender and not too dry on the palate. The spices were again subtle and quite sweet. A slightly stronger spice flavour would have been enjoyed. A very pleasant beefiness and delicate texture made you feel you were eating a fresh, high quality biltong, compared to so many on offer. A rebalance in the spices would lift this product and make it really sing.
Soft dried biltong with a good savoury beef aroma. With flavours of beef and gentle seasoning, there is an honesty to this product that is refreshing. This snack has nowhere to hide; its all about the flavour of the beef. Seeing some more of the other spicing coming through would be great, but as a simple product it’s been well made and tasty.
